HOW TO APPLY | NEW YORK JAZZ MASTERS | 21-28 JULY 2019

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION:

• Applicants must be above 16 years old.

• Applicants are responsible for transportation between their homes to Wroclaw.

• Accepted applicants outside of Poland must provide a copy of health insurance covering the time of their stay during the workshop. 

• If due to unforeseen circumstances a teacher is not able to come, the organizers will arrange a replacement. The fee reimbursement is NOT possible in this case. 

• The participants will not be compensated in any monetary form for appearing in concerts taking place during the workshops.

• The participants must speak English fluently.

 

CANCELLATION:

• Applicants may cancel their participation until May 31, 2019. Entire fee except 150€ deposit will be returned.

• Students who cancel after May 31, 2018 or fail to pay the installments before the deadline will not participate in the workshops and will not be refunded for the workshop.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

All applicants are required to apply online.  You must complete all required fields and uploads prior to submission. Confirmation of receipt of your application should come to your email within 24hours. Auditors are subject to a separate application process. See details below. 

• Musicians above 16 years old who are in the areas of jazz and improvisation should apply online.

• submit Applicants must video (i.e. YouTube) or audio (i.e. SoundCloud) recordings. The repertoire is of the applicant's choice and can include jazz standards as well as original compositions. 

• Applicants will be notified of their status (accepted or denied) within two weeks after the date of submission of their online application. 

• After being notified about their status applicants have one week to submit payment for the workshop to confirm their participation. See tuition for details. Please note that the amount of space is limited. First come, first served so make sure you secure your spot.

 

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUDITORS:

• Applicants who are interested in attending only group classes and observe Instrument Masterclasses can apply as auditors. 

• Audiors are not required to play an instrument.

• Auditors will only attend the Special Topic Class and Listening Session Class and observe Instrumental Masterclass.

  • NOTE: Auditors will not be able to bring instruments to Instrumental Masterclass or actively participate (in case of vocalists they cannot sing during class). Auditors will not participate in Ensemble Class, Lunch Concerts and in Final Concert taking place on the last day. Auditors will not be able to use practice rooms. 

• Auditors will be granted entry to all events organized by New York Jazz Masters, including Lunch Concerts and Jam Sessions.

• Auditors need to apply by filling out the application form online. Applicants are not required to submit video or audio.

• Auditors need to send all the necessary documents (see list below).
